Experimental evidence showing that money = access

As an experimental psychologist, I resonate to experimental approaches to societal issues - that is, application of science in the interest of public policy.  That gets us beyond the he said/she said style of debate and into hard numbers and verifiable facts.  For those who love Bill Moyers' reporting, here is his take on the experiments and more.  Then follows links to the experimental reports.

Here are a pair of field experiments.  In each, two different approaches were made to members of congress.  For example, one communication asked for a meeting with "active political donors"; the other asked for a meeting with "constituents."  Both studies show a much, much greater responsiveness from the congressional offices to the donors and lobbyists.
