Tony Davis of the Daily Star has long reported on his investigations of the proposed Rosemont mine and the science and politics surrounding it. Here are two articles in this morning's Star. One describes in detail the inter-agency differences about the environmental effects of Rosemont; Bureau of Land Management scientists take exception to the Forest Service's pass on what Rosemont would do to the neighboring fragile ecosystem. The second describes studies of the geology underneath the proposed open pit that could lower the aquifer and thus speed drainage of nearby creeks. These are lengthy reads but should be on your list if you are tracking Rosemont.
