Subtitle: There's always a catch.
Davis got out of jail where she was due to a contempt citation for not issuing same-sex marriage licenses. Now she says she will not interfere with her deputy clerks issuing those licenses. The NY Times reports: "But the condition that Ms. Davis attached to her admittedly makeshift solution — that the licenses would lack her authorization — was an indication that her protracted legal and political battles would not go away soon."
The troubles could go away if Davis would (a) do the job she was elected to do, or (b) resign. Clearly she aims to do neither thus insuring her protracted publicity.
