Scriber is going to the Dem caucuses in Tucson today. I thought that the news might be kind of calm and reasonable so I could skip the blog this morning. Silly me.
Trump continues assault on GOP leaders, promises that Republican voters will stay home unless he is the nominee. Cool! Let's hope that more Republicans than Democrats stay home in November.
At the Hartford rally, Trump warned party elders that millions of voters would stay home this fall if he's denied.
"The Republicans want to play cute with us," Trump said. "If I don't make it, you're going to have millions of people that don't vote for a Republican. They're not going to vote at all."
"They're tired of the Republicans," he said.
So am I.
Onward Christian soldiers. Headline: Miss. governor signs law allowing people in church to be armed.
Sometimes the news is stranger than fiction. I wonder if the law extends to mosques.
Here's the scene: "JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A holstered gun sat on top of a Bible on Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant's desk Friday when he signed a law allowing guns in churches, ...". Notice that the bible was subordinate to the gun.
So, we need to update the hymn for Mississippi.
Onward Christian soldiers
Marching through the door
With the guns of Jesus
Shooting as ne'er before
Onward then, ye people
Join the N R A
Wear with pride your holsters
In our church today
