Kellyanne Conway commits ethics violation - you can sign this petition asking for sanctions

Daily Kos has a petition for you to sign asking the Office of Government Ethics to take action against Kellyanne Conway for her shameless advertising of Ivanka Trump’s line of clothing.

Why did Conway do that stupid thing? Well, that two more clothing chains ditched Ivanka’s duds might have something to do with it: Two more retailers drop Ivanka clothing line, WH spokesman calls it a ‘direct attack’ on Trump.

You know I don’t usually include such things but Trump and his offspring are using the Presidency to enrich themsleves, and now Conway has become complicit in those illegal activities. Do with this what you will - I signed it (but then I get regular emails from Kos already). For your convenience I have embedded the petition form below.

On February 9, Kellyanne Conway—counselor to President Trump—went on Fox News, and with the White House seal in the background urged viewers repeatedly to buy Ivanka Trump’s clothing line.

This is a blatant violation under federal law.

§ 2635.702 Use of public office for private gain. An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity …

Congressman Elijah Cummings called this a “textbook violation” of ethics laws and recommended that it be referred the Office of Government Ethics.

Sign the petition: Discipline Kellyanne Conway for violating federal ethics rules
