Highlights from the Mournday Mourning Illustrated News

Senate candidate Roy Moore from Alabama was the target of scorn and calls to step aside. His transgression? He allegedly had sexual contacts with teenage, under-age girls. But if he had married one of them he might have gotten a recording contract. Things did not turn out so badly for Louisiana born rock-n-roller Jerry Lee Lewis who married his 13-year old cousin. This significant digit is the proportion of people benefitting from the GOP tax cut. It is also the chance the tax cut will help the middle class.

The GOP members of congress have thoughts and prayers for the 1%. Led by The Donald they stopped the pretense of tax reform and just admit that the Ryan bill is a huge tax cut for the rich. They think that making the 1% richer will put the economy into overdrive. How they will pay for it is to pray for it. Check out this one.

Speaking of thoughts and prayers. While congress is thinking and praying, another 26 American citizens were deprived of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by the NRA and the gun industry.
